An inert gas atmosphere oven is, in principle, the same as an air atmosphere oven, but then without an air atmosphere. Where a layer of oxides is deposited on the steel in an air atmosphere oven due to the reaction between metal and oxygen, this is not the case in an inert gas atmosphere oven.
